Important preparations for the arrival of your expandable home

Once you’ve designed your expandable home and placed your order, there are a few items to get in order before its arrival at your property.

Council approval

Australia Expandable Homes do not engage with the council approval process, however, we will provide all the diagrams and information regarding the unit for you to apply for approval with the council. Please note that we do not take any liability for council approvals or building regulations for your property. Refer to our trusted partner list if you would like assistance with this step.

Footings, plumbing & electrical

Arrange for your footings/slab and groundwork to be installed and plumbing, water and electrical connections to be set up before road transport delivers your unit. We can connect you with a footings/slab professional, and we suggest engaging plumbing and electrical professionals directly in your residing area.

Delivery day planning

Once your delivery date is confirmed, you’ll need to arrange for a crane to remove the unit from the truck. Please ensure that there is at least 20m turning space for the truck otherwise we will have to deliver the unit on the road and your crane company can place the unit on your prepared footings. Chat with us for advice on arrangements for this step.

Finishing touches

We have an installation team; Expandable Home Installs Pty Ltd that can assist with a quote to install your home and extras. If you would like to install the unit yourself please be advised that the correct footings/slab is essential to validate your structural warranty.
